I had a order for a horse book shelf for a ladies daughter.  She wanted a horse head on one side of the book shelf, a silhouette of a horse on the other, and horse shoes on the top two shelves.  So this is what I did.

new things I have made!

I have been working on some little projects.  My husband found this out in our burn pile the other day.  He brought it up to me, because he knows I could do something cute with it.  lol  His brother threw it away because he didn't "like" it.   I didn't get a picture of it before I put the zebra on it.  It was just a cream colored lamp with an old dirty shade.  I cleaned both of them up, put some zebra stripes on it and put some fur around the edge of the top and bottom.

Well here is the finished product!

So I had a woman that wanted me to make her son a bookshelf with Captain America on it.  My husband made the book shelf
Then I painted all the shelves Red, White and Blue, Painted the outside of the shelf White.

I drew the face of Captain America on one side, Painted him to bring out his good lookin features.

Then put the shield on the other.

Here is the finished product!

Another project someone asked me to do for them.  My husband's cousin son loves the old camo'  So I took this end table.  Took the knobs off and started painted.

I forgot to get a picture of the mirror before I painted it but here is what the finished products look like.

A few more projects that I piddled with.  I went to vendor malls, yard sales, and trading sites.  I found most of this stuff SUPER cheap.

I got this mirror for $8.00 I sold it for $100.00

I had this for about 5 years, I originally paid 29.99 but I didn't need it anymore.  So I painted the shelf zebra and sold it for $35.00 I didn't make a lot on it but you have to remember I paid 30.00 for it 5 YEARS AGO!

My husband makes this shelf for 10.00 I sell them for 35.00

We bought this message board at the vendors mall, it was an antique white, really dirty.  The back of it was a grey with stains all over it.  I took out the back, staples some zebra material over the carboard, wrapped some white ribbon around it to hand cards with.  Painted the whole thing a real white.  I paid 7.00 for this.  I sold it for $50.00

So that is my bargain finds for this week.  check back with what I have coming up next week.  Thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to leave comments.

castle bed in wall

 The construction of the bed,
First you have to cut the hole in the wall, then build the frame above the stairs

We had to build it a little higher then what we wanted so people could go down the steps without hitting there head on the frame of the bed.  SO we had to build steps to get up to the bed.

if you have steps then you need rails.  My husband wanted to take it a few more steps then just rails.  lol

now comes the siding, doors, windows and railing.

Paint time!

Now to make it look more like a castle.  I was going to do the blocks but decided to just faux paint it.

Now for the tops
pic's of the steps on the inside

steps from the rails

window from the side.

here is the bed on the inside of the wall

Wasn't even finished and they had to come stay the night.  lol   We put a tv on the shelf

I think they really like it!

This is as far as we have gotten.  Still need to put a door on, and lots of molding left.

Tiger print end table

I had an end table that wasn't the prettiest thing in the world.  But thought it would be cute to do a tiger print on it.  I thought what the heck.  I just did a zebra print dresser.  It can't look worse then what it already does.  lol

So this is what it looked like before I started with the strips.  I was going to paint it.  but thought hey the color is really close.  So I thought I would just paint stripes on it and see how it looks.

After putting a few stripes on, I wasn't so sure this thing was going to turn out very well.

Then I went over the drawer and on the bottom shelf.  It started looking a little better.  I did a second coat to the top and it looked alot better after that.

I added a few stripes on each side, stepped back and thought hmm this just might look ok.  : )

I'm pretty happy with the results.  I think it looks pretty good!  Check out my other blogs for the jungle theme mural, Zebra print dressers, and castle bed (with bed in the wall)

Zebra print furniture for the jungle theme playroom

I have always wanted to do a zebra print dresser but never had anywhere to put it. Since I did the mural in my grandbabies playroom a jungle theme. Now is the time! Here is the dresser before I re-furbished it. It was a nice little dresser but didn't fit the room anymore.

I started out taking out the drawers and painting the frame black.

I pulled out all the drawers and painted them white, then started the zebra stripes.  I used a object I had laying around that had zebra stripes on it to give me a prop to go by of how to put the stripes on.

I found that it was easier to put the drawers in the dresser so I can bring them down to the next drawer to make it look more realistic.

Now to add the knobs.  I took the gold knobs off and spray paint them all black.

Here is the finished project.  Hope you enjoyed.  I am really happy with the way it turned out.
